Our team of craft cider experts comes from near and far. Some of us grew up in Callicoon, and some are city slickers who have taken up residence in the country. We’re all excited to be part of Seminary Hill and the revival of sustainable agriculture and hospitality in the Catskills.
Meet the Team

Doug Doetsch
CO-FOUNDER & CEO
Doug Doetsch has roots in Callicoon that go back five generations. For over three decades, he has practiced international finance law in New York and Chicago.

Susan Manning
CO-FOUNDER
Doug courted Susan by taking her on visits to the family homestead in Callicoon. She has spent her career as a humanities professor, concentrating on dance and theatre studies.

Reuben Doetsch
CO-FOUNDER
Reuben has worked for more than a decade in hospitality start-ups. He is currently based in Los Angeles as co-founder of AvantStay.

Stuart Madany
DIRECTOR, CIDER MAKING & MARKETING
Stuart trained as an architect and found his calling as a cidermaker. Before coming to Seminary Hill, he was the cider master at Castle Hill Cider in Keswick, Virginia.

Bill Hess
DIRECTOR, ORCHARDS & FACILITIES
Bill grew up outside Callicoon on land settled by his great-great-grandparents. In addition to working at Seminary Hill, he is a master woodworker.

Jack Tippet
EXECUTIVE CHEF
Jack grew up in North Carolina and moved to New York City to pursue his career as a chef. When he’s not in the kitchen at Seminary Hill, Jack makes cider from apples foraged on the farm.

Kayce Drasher
WEDDINGS & EVENTS COORDINATOR
Kayce grew up in Sullivan County and graduated with a marketing degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has worked in the wedding business for more than a decade.

Maria Ter Bush
TASTING ROOM MANAGER
Maria grew up in the Catskill Mountains. She has a degree in International Business. Outside of work, Maria enjoys traveling abroad to visit family, and fishing and is a gastronomy lover.

Ronni Gorr
ACCOMMODATIONS MANAGER
Ronni comes from a fifth-generation Callicoon family. She’s been working at The Boarding House since opening and became the manager in December 2022. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and attending concerts.

Anna Aberg & Tom Roberts
DESIGN CONSULTANTS
Anna and Tom live in Livingston Manor, where they run their design firm Homestedt. They were responsible for the renovation of the Boarding House and our branding and visual design.

Chris Negronida
CIDER CONSULTANT
Chris has extensive experience in orchard management and cider production in the Finger Lakes, one of the premiere cider-making regions in the United States.

ARCHITECT
James is a partner of River Architects and a certified Passive House architecture consultant specializing in sustainable buildings.
