STAY AT SEMINARY HILL
Unlike other hotels in the Catskills, The Boarding House at Seminary Hill features 17 bedrooms designed and renovated by local studio Homestedt. With eight private apartment units, each with its own living room, kitchenette, and bathroom(s), the design follows the elegant simplicity of the Shakers, focusing on natural materials, functional design, and the luxury that comes from well-made things.

The Upper House is the property's focal point and home to our communal reception room and basement parlor kitchen. Home to six of our eight apartments as well as a spacious reception room with a library, a covered porch for summer afternoons, and an expansive parlor kitchen with seating for up to thirty people.
The Lower House is the most historic of the two buildings and is home to two separate apartments, each on its own floor with a private entrance. Characterized by original wood floors, soaring ceilings, antique wavy glass windows, and historic nooks with tubs and shower rooms tucked into them.
Apartment Amenities
Local studio Homestedt outfitted each apartment and room with Kilim rugs, luxury WRIGHT mattresses, and linen bed sheets. Kitchenettes feature two burner induction stovetops, a complete set of cooking pans, and service ware – everything you need for cooking simple meals. Each apartment features private bathroom(s), many with restored vintage claw foot tubs, and all with complimentary luxury bath amenities.
Shared Amenities
Upon entering the Upper Boarding House, you’ll discover a shared library with books, comfy sofas, and board games. Downstairs, a communal kitchen is where we serve a light breakfast for guests.
Why Visit Seminary Hill?
For our grandparents and great-grandparents, making cider was simply part of living off the land. As was hunting and fishing, raising and butchering livestock, and canning and pickling vegetables from the garden. They took in summer boarders to make ends meet, and some became lifelong friends. Their example inspires us as we craft distinctive ciders from apples and pears grown in our holistic orchard, welcome guests to our tasting room and boarding house, and share our appreciation for the bounty and beauty of the land.
