Matthew Albeck is a jazz guitarist based in the Western Catskills. His trio, The Immigrants, (with Robert Kopec and Bryan Kopchak) focuses on the Latin side of jazz and incorporates meditative grooves from Africa, India, and Cuba. Tight group interplay, a variety of rhythms, and simple melodies synchronize into a smooth but rambunctious blend of Afrocuban, jazz, and meditative sounds.
